Going Out Club is for young people aged 16-25 and runs at various times during the evenings, usually on Wednesdays and Fridays, term time only.
The club provides an opportunity for young people with a learning disability to get together and take part in activities which promote health, wellbeing and their inclusion in the community. The activities at the club are led by the young people themselves. The young people contribute to the planning, organising and evaluation of the club activities.
Many young people with a learning disability face barriers in accessing mainstream activities and have fewer opportunities to enjoy themselves with friends away from their family carers. This project helps young people develop social and life skills and pursue their own interests and hobbies.
If you are a young person who would like to join Going Out, or you would like more information about it, please contact Niki Lowe in the first instance on 020 3963 0599 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
