Merton Mencap Business Plan
The CEO and trustees of Merton Mencap have conducted a review of the Charity’s Business Plan. The key findings are as follows:
- The demographic of people with a learning disability in Merton shows that the Charity should provide at least double the quota of service for adults than for young people. Our current business plan shows this but we have not developed our services to the extent we need to. Our priority is to secure funding to run more services for adults.
- In relation to services for carers, our support for carers of adults must develop. Our priority is to secure funding to run more services which support carers of adults.
- Although the system of personal planning for our services has started, it must be embedded to enable us to demonstrate real outcomes. Our priority is to ensure the system of personal planning is in place for each person with a learning disability who access our services and activities.
- The Charity has increased its recruitment of volunteers; however, to ensure optimisation of volunteers, our priority for this year is to ensure that volunteers derive as much, if not more, from their volunteer experience than the Charity does from their contribution.
